On manipulation of acoustic and elastic waves

Abstract

Propagation and manipulation of acoustic and elastic waves play an important role in different areas such as engineering and medical sciences.The corresponding research results can be applied to the design of novel acoustic devices, ultrasonic non-destructive testing, noise and vibration reduction etc. This talk will report some recent research results on the propagation and manipulation of acoustic and elastic waves in elastic materials and structures. In particular, some efficient methods and novel research findings for wave propagation and manipulation by utilizing pre-deformed structures, electro-active polymers, piezoelectric sensors/actuatorsand hybrid metamaterial structures will be presented and discussed. Furthermore, an outlook will be also given to highlight some future research demands in this exciting and promising research area.

 

张传增教授现为德国锡根大学土木工程系主任、结构力学教席教授,英国威塞克斯技术学院客座研究员,同济大学兼职教授,哈尔滨工业大学客座教授,哈尔滨工程大学客座教授,澳门大学资深客座教授(2010-2011),南京航空航天大学客座教授,中国建筑材料科学研究总院客座教授。2014年11月当选为欧洲科学院院士,2015年1月被授予斯洛伐克工业大学荣誉博士,2015年9月当选为欧洲科学与艺术院院士,2016年6月当选为欧洲人文与自然科学院院士。
