报告题目:Beyond Critical Conditions: A Time-Dependent Approach to Fracture and Irreversible Deformation

报告时间:2026年10月26日,星期一,15:30-16:30

报告地点:龙赛理科楼南楼519会议室

主讲人:Yuri Petrov

Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS)Professor of the St. Petersburg State University俄罗斯科学院院士,圣彼得堡国立大学教授

摘要:

Fracture and irreversible deformation are transient processes governed by characteristic time scalesof microstructural evolution, relaxation, and damage accumulation. Under dynamic loading, criticalproperties and constitutive parameters may be come unstable, limiting the applicability of staticcriteria. This lecure introduces the incubation time approach (TA) as a framework for dynamicdeformation and fracture, emphasizing phenomena inadequately captured by conventional rate-dependent models, including unstable critical characteristics and anomalous stress-loading-raterelationships. Its application to cydic loading, where irreversible changes accumulate, is alsodiscussed. Particular attention is given to ultrafine-grained and nanostructured materials, whosedistinct mechanical responses motivate the use of ITA to interpret and predict dynamic strength and fracture resistance.

主讲人简介:

Prof. Yuri V. Petrov is a Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), Professor ofMechanics at St. Petersburg State University, and Head of the Department of Extreme States ofMaterials and Structures at the Institute for Problems in Mechanical Engineering of the RAS. He isthe founder and leader of the scientific school of Extreme State Mechanics, devoted to themechanics and physics of materials and continua under intense dynamic and thermomechanicalloading. His research focuses on fracture mechanisms, irreversible deformation, plasticity, andabrupt transfomations under extreme conditions. He has authored more than 350 scientificpublications, induding monographs and book chapters. Professor Petrov was elected aCorresponding Member of the RAS in 2006 and a Full Member in 2025, and was awarded the Medalof the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the Russian Federation.
